Mathews Mar Athanasius Residential Central School (MMARCS), Chengannur is owned and managed by the Trinity Mar Thoma Educational Agency, Thittamel, Chengannur. The Management of the school is vested in the Governing Board of the T.M.E. Agency. His Grace the Most Rev. Dr. Theodosius Mar Thoma Metropolitan is the Patron of the school. Rt. Rev. Thomas Mar Timotheos Episcopa, the Diocesan Bishop of the Chengannur - Mavelikara and Ranni - Nilackal Dioceses, is the Vice-Patron. The Vicar of the Chengannur Trinity Mar Thoma Church, Rev. Daniel Thomas, is the President of the Governing Board and Manager of the school. Mathews Mar Athanasius Residential School, Chengannur and Kalamandiram Play School, Thittamel, Chengannur are the sister institutions.
Trinity Mar Thoma Church, Thittamel, Chengannur stepped into the field of education with the inception of Kalamandiram Nursery School in 1959 by the great visionary. the late Rt. Rev. Dr. Mathews Mar Athanasius Episcopa. Later in 1983, the Trinity Mar Thoma Educational (TME) Agency was registered as a charitable trust under the Societies Act of Kerala and the school was brought under the Management of the TME Agency for the academic and administrative convenience. Mathews Mar Athanasius Residential School was affiliated to CISCE, New Delhi in 1984.
Mathews Mar Athanasius Residential Central School was started in 2006 to cater to the demands of parents for a school based on CBSE syllabus. In a short span of time, MMAR Central School has achieved phenomenal development and earned a good reputation. It is a veritable sanctum sanctorum where the future citizens of our illustrious country will achieve refinement of tastes, perfection of talents and high moral standards. MMAR has now become the land mark of Chengannur and we offer classes KG-XII in the ICSE stream and classes KG to XII in the CBSE stream. The school is situated in an ideal, calm, serene environment at Angadical South on the side of Chengannur - Mavelikara road about 200 mts from M.C. Road.
